A Video/ movie can be used to capture the students’ attention and introduce the lesson in an interesting and fun way.
I uploaded my movie to youtube because was not able to upload it onto the blog from my computer, had to add it to youtube and then create a link to the video..

REFLECTION
The term video editing refers to “the process of re-arranging or modifying segments of video to form another piece of video. The goals of video editing are the same as in film editing — the removal of unwanted footage, or parts of video, the isolation of desired footage, and the arrangement of footage in time to synthesize a new piece of footage.” (Socalwebworx, 2012)
In portfolio piece 6 titled Video Editing we were required to create a 3-5 minute video for any lesson, which should contain: music/audio, still pictures, title, captions, appropriate credits, with animations and transitions included in the movie which will be used for classroom instruction.
The movie/ video will be used to introduce a lesson on Daily Routine. It is intended to capture the students’ attention and introduce the lesson in an interesting and fun way. The challenges experienced during the course of creating this piece was acquiring suitable audio to import into the movie. In order to rectify this issue I downloaded a youtube video with a song about telling time in English and convert the video into a mp3 file using youtube converter mp3, then downloaded a second audio file in Spanish and record a third audio file title Adìos (Goodbye) which is also in Spanish. The second challenge faced was during the cost of posting video on the blog, the video would not upload, just received an error message. I tried to upload the video three times with the same result, an error message. In order to try to rectify the issue uploaded the video to youtube and then inserted the link to the video into the post, this allowed me to post the video to the blog.
The piece could be improved by adding a video to the movie and importing audio files/ music which are in Spanish, perhaps also adding a recording to the movie narrating the story.

Wikis can be used to encourage students to transfer elements of what they learned through lectures and classroom discussions into an article on the Wiki. The information is then available on the Wiki for other students to read and digest. More importantly, the writer reflects on what she learned on a topic by describing it on the Wiki. This reinforces the student’s learning experience.

REFLECTION
A Wiki is defined as a collaborative Web site comprises the perpetual collective work of many authors. Similar to a blog in structure and logic, a wiki allows anyone to edit, delete or modify content that has been placed on the Web site using a browser interface, including the work of previous authors. In contrast, a blog, typically authored by an individual, does not allow visitors to change the original posted material; only add comments to the original content.
The term wiki refers to either the Web site or the software used to create the site.
In Portfolio Piece 7: Creating Wikis we were required to create a simple wiki that can be used for classroom instruction. The wiki should have a home page with at least 3 additional pages, at least one hyperlink to a web resource on the wiki as well as a video or audio should be inserted.

In creating the Wiki I experienced or had some issues when creating additional pages, in order to try to rectify this problem I watch a video on creating Wikis and followed the steps used to create a new page. I had to follow the steps twice in order to get the pages created.

The piece could be improved by adding a few videos on one page instead of the one video added as a link. I could have also improved my site by changing the background colour, this was not down since the software would not allow me to do so. The site can be used to aid parents in getting to know a little information about the teacher, allow parents to view information such as homework and be notified of upcoming events or activities within the school.
